Boat Voltage Regulators Voltage Regulator On 60hp Mercury Outboard?

Voltage Regulator on 60hp Mercury Outboard? - boat voltage regulators

I bought a 2009 Boston Whaler 15 Super Sport. After that I spent my first ten gallons of gasoline from the battery is dead because the voltage regulator was dead. Today, not even a month later it was again. What could be causing this? The boat is not difficult or anything driven, are not easy.

OK - replacement of the controller? But nothing else?

Not nearly enough information. If you have a switch on the battery may be faulty or operates while the engine is running. Your rectifiers can be incorrect - that only the regulator still appear, but if the regulator is broken, which is usually a voltage is too high everywhere.

Get a service manual, Crowley is a good source of diagrams explosion.

It could be as simple as poor connections to clean the battery - starting with the terminal - the posts and clamps and assemble and draw with a wrench - sealing layer management to prevent water or corrosion. Make sure that the internal connections for the charging system to start clean and in good contact - and the engine.

It is a process of eliminationtion. If you do not use the manual method of service, the hope of triggering of the case and does a lot of things that may never solved, replace the source of the problem, spending money alone.

Have your battery with a center of service quality checked - no room for starter batteries standard vehicle into a boat, do not worry about the stress.
